Circuit Breaker Repair/Replacement
Designed to channel electricity from the main supply line to individual circuits in your home that distribute power to your appliances, lights and electronics, circuit breakers also protect your property by interrupting the electrical current in the event that too much electrical current is requested or provided. Circuit breakers are a critical component to your home’s electrical safety.
A circuit breaker is an automatic switch that interrupts the flow of electricity in the event of an overload or short circuit (electrical fault). Electrical faults occur when a circuit is overloaded (the demand for electricity exceeds the circuit breaker capacity);a short circuit (excessive current flowing through the power source); and the most serious cause, a ground fault interruption (the flow of electrical current is abnormal).
If you reset the circuit breaker but the outlet is still not working, you may not have reset the correct breaker. The best way to determine this is to reset all of the breakers in your service panel one at a time. Then, if the outlet is still not working, call Nisat Electric to inspect your service panel; you may need to have one or more circuit breakers replaced.
Don’t try to replace or fix a faulty circuit breaker yourself! It could be very dangerous. Nisat Electric will ensure that your service panel is operating properly and replace circuit breakers that aren’t functioning properly. All work is performed according to the latest National Electrical Code.
The National Electrical Code (NEC) is the standard for the safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment in the United States. The NEC, while having no legally binding regulation as written, is generally adopted by states and municipalities as the standards by which they enforce safe electrical practices within their jurisdiction. Considered the benchmark for safe electrical installations, the NEC is published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) every three years.
